Event number 135
10th July 2021
This week 44 people ran, jogged and walked the course, of whom 9 were first timers and 5 recorded new Personal Bests. Representatives of 4 different clubs took part. We had visitors from across New Zealand and also from Tasmania, Queensland and Victoria!
Another cold morning greeted our parkrunners this week and we kicked off by wishing Robert Osmetti a Happy Birthday! Robert celebrated the occasion by earning himself a new PB today!
Local Queenstowner and first time parkrunner, Angela Waters, opened her account in style by coming across first with a time of 19:36. This was only the third time in our three years of Queenstown parkrun to have a first female outright. And for the first time ever, the top two overall finishers were female with local parkrunner Sara Metzger coming across with a new PB at 20:14. Both ladies made it look effortless this week and well done a great morning of parkrunning. Local junior parkrunner Joseph Murray rounded out the top three finishers today in a time of 20:54.
Rounding out the top three men today was local Dave Pearson at 21:31 and visiting parkrunner from Australia Josh Hargreaves at 21:42. Local parkrunner Wendy Hawkes was third female in her 172nd parkrun with a time of 23:39.
Upcoming events are the first ever Winter Pride festival edition of Queenstown parkrun on 4th September!
