Event number 127
15th May 2021
This week 46 people ran, jogged and walked the Queenstown Gardens course, of whom 10 were first timers to the course and 4 first time parkrunners! We welcomed visitors from Hamilton, Dunedin, Christchurch and Auckland and as per the last few weeks our Australian visitors get a special cheer!
It was our third week of our alternate course "C" and it has proven to be rather popular with 11 new personal best recorded. Well done to the following parkrunners for achieving their PBs this morning:
Seamus Costello, Sara Metzger, Matthew Tyrrell, Chris Major, Zdenek Necas, Henrietta Forder, Caroline Lane, Victoria Leadbetter, Lynn Eyles and Emma Collins.
Local parkrunner Seamus Costello was first to finish and was also his second consecutive PB in a row with a time of 18:28. He was followed by an unknown runner who was leading at the start of the run, you’re in the photos if you want to claim your second spot! Coming in third was our newish local parkrunner Luke Hammington with a time of 19:09.
Top female spot went to Sara Metzger with an amazing new PB time of 20:24, and a happy birthday to you on Tuesday! Dahna Hunter pushing Rocco in the buggy came in at an impressive 22:41. Isobel Barry rounded off the top three females with a time of 23:20.
Next week is tutu day on 22nd May. Feel free to run or volunteer parkrun in your wildest tutu. Also, on the 5th June will be the 3rd anniversary of Queenstown parkrun and the junior parkrunners will be in charge of the event, and we are still needing more volunteers on the day if any kids would like to help out!
We are very grateful to the volunteers who made this event happen: Brodie BANKS, Coen BANKS, Hudson BANKS, Iain BANKS, Wendy BANKS, Paul JAQUIN.
