Event number 118
13th March 2021
This week 73 people ran, jogged and walked the course, of whom 22 were first timers and 9 recorded new Personal Bests. Representatives of 6 different clubs took part. We had visitors from Auckland, Christchurch, Invercargill, Kapiti Coast, Wellington, and Gisborne.
The sun is taking longer to rise up over the Remarkables signaling that we are inching closer to Winter. It was a still and cool morning and almost perfect running conditions for our event this morning. We were excited to celebrate Margaret Deverson's 50th parkrun milestone today. 15 of her 50 parkruns have been here at Queenstown with the rest across parkruns in Australia and New Zealand. Also, we were able to wish Pegasus parkrun's Jackie Hancock a Happy Birthday as she came to celebrate in Queenstown this weekend!
Charlie Blazeby opened his parkrun account today in speedy fashion by "blazing" across the finish line at 18:20. He was followed in closely by local parkrunner Nancy Jiang who matched her Queenstown parkrun PB at 18:26. Rounding out the top three was local parkrunner Rob Nesbitt at 19:16.
Local parkrunner Seamus Costello was the third male parkrunner across with a time of 19:21 in his 60th event. Local parkrunner Dahna Hunter earned herself a new PB today coming across as second female at 20:36 with Amber Stewart coming across third female at 23:20.
EARLY REMINDER THAT WE WILL BE SHIFTING TO OUR 9AM START TIME ON 10TH APRIL!
