Queenstown parkrun – Event number 113 – 30th January 2021

Queenstown parkrun
Event number 113
30th January 2021

This week 48 people ran, jogged and walked the course, of whom 6 were first timers and 7 recorded new Personal Bests. Representatives of 3 different clubs took part. We had visitors from Auckland, Nelson, Wellington, and Christchurch!

It was a picture perfect Queenstown summer morning for our fave weekly 5km event! With virtually no wind and clear skies, our parkrunners were treated with ideal conditions for getting in their morning circuit of Queenstown Gardens.  Proceedings started off with our usual event briefing and a shout out to local parkrunner Isobel Barry who completed her 50th parkrun today. 46 of her 50 parkruns have been here at Queenstown! Well done Issy!

Visiting parkrunner from Auckland, Joshua Moody, was first across the line today with a time of 19:33.  Joshua was chased in by local parkrunner Paul Nicholas who was only 5 seconds behind him at 19:38.  Chris Seymour was third across in a time of 20:22.

Local parkrunner Dahna Hunter was the first female across the line today in a time of 20:56.  Visiting parkrunner from Auckland, Shamiso Sisimaya, completed her 2nd Queenstown parkrun in 2nd place with at time of 21:50.  Local parkrunner Sara Metzger rounded out the top three ladies in a time of 22:00 and earned herself a new PB in the process.

The event was made possible by 10 volunteers:
