Event number 95
1st August 2020
This week 52 people ran, jogged and walked the course, of whom 13 were first timers and 8 recorded new Personal Bests. Representatives of 4 different clubs took part. We had visitors from across New Zealand today.
Warmer temperatures greeted our parkrunners today as the mercury inched towards double digits. A light cross wind across Queenstown Bay made for a more challenging last stretch of the course. A smaller crowd size today as many locals were up at the Remarkables ski field enjoying the much anticipated opening of the new Sugar Bowl chair lift.
Local runner Jack McKay came across first today in a time of 18:20. His result today was his seventh time as a first finisher. He is one more first place away from tying Aleks Cheifetz and Ben Britton for the most front runner finishes. Local Event Director Chris Seymour was second across the line today with a time of 20:18 and visiting parkrunner from Wellington Chris Howard rounded out the top three at 20:28.
Local junior parkrunner Siena Mackley completed her third Queenstown parkrun today with a time of 21:14. Siena smashed her previous PB by over two minutes. Visiting parkrunner from Wellington Emma Bassett followed Siena in with a time of 22:14. Isobel Barry was the third female across the line at 23:43.
