Event number 90 - St Paddy's Day Edition
14th March 2020
This week 72 people ran, jogged and walked the course, of whom 38 were first timers and 4 recorded new Personal Bests. Representatives of 18 different clubs took part. We had visitors from across New Zealand, Australia, the UK, USA, and Ireland!
On a day when many countries in the world were unable to commence their fave weekly 5km event, we in New Zealand were fortunate enough to do so. It was great to have everyone out to celebrate our friends from the Emerald Isle for our second annual St Paddy's Day edition of Queenstown parkrun. Lots of green active wear and Irish sports jumpers were donned for our event today and we wish all of our Irish friends a very happy St Paddy's Day during this challenging time.
Daragh Reynolds was first across the line today in his sixth Queenstown parkrun and second first finish at a time of 18:56. He was followed in by Demetri Pappas who clocked 19:15. Rounding out the top three men today was Andrew Robinson of Cromwell who came across at 19:26.
Amanda Harvey logged her 10th parkrun at Queenstown this week and second first female finish with a time of 21:26. This time earned Amanda a new PB at our course in the process. In her second Queenstown parkrun, Chahira Moussa, was the second female across the line with a time of 22:14. Visiting parkrunner from Australia, Kerryn McTaggart was the third female across the line at 22:38.
On 11th April we will have our Easter themed event and on 25th April (ANZAC Day) we will still be having parkrun but at a possible modified start time. Please keep an eye on our Facebook page for updates regarding any changes or cancellations to our event.
