Well done for participating today at this, our 415th parkrun along the scenic Hutt River. The field of 260 enjoyed the continued good weather we have been having and fortunately no wind this morning, ensuring 10 runners achieved personal bests. The turnout certainly was not affected by the after effects of Valentines Day celebrations nor resting legs for Round the Bays tomorrow. Greetings to tourists from bonny Scotland, Ireland, England and a Welshman hiding amongst them. A warm welcome to Argentina who visited Lower Hutt parkrun for the first time. Well done to the 8 who completed their first parkrun ever and 21 who completed their first at Lower Hutt (two of those have an impressive 681 runs between them). Kudos to our top 3 male and female finishers. Special mention to our sponsors who keep parkrun free forever and volunteers who make it all possible, especially our race director today, Susan Haynes for her time and commitment. Milestones today include Chris Dayrit-Badiola completing his 50 and Samuel Ll his 10 junior, also one of our runners had his 200th Lower Hutt Run, although he has done additional elsewhere too. Next week is a two two week (22/02/2020) and you may want to wear a tutu but don’t forget to bring your barcode to avoid an “Unknown” result like the 9 runners this week. Best wishes to all our parkrunners for Round the Bays.
