Event 229 29 June 2019 – halfway through the year already

Today was a good day for parkrun, it was a little cold and a bit wet. Overall it was good conditions for running Today I was aiming for under 30 minutes and I got 29:59 it was so close. I’d also like to say thank you to all the volunteers today.

The first three males today were Ash HOUGH with an amazing time of 18:53, Mathew KING with a stunning time of 19:43, David DOWNER with a great time of 20:16. Good work you three!

The first three females today were Cath BRADDOCK with an awesome time of 21:23, Shannon MALTHOUSE got a great time of 21:31, Carolyn MARSHALL got a great time of 21:40. Nice work!

We had a few new runners today, Shannon MALTHOUSE, Daniel JONES, Gerrard SMITH, Phil THOMPSON, Fiona STOKES, Craig JONES, Elwyn JOSLIN-RILEY, Tara MORTON, Greg HARRIS, Alison JONES. Good job you guys we hope to see you next week.

The first 3 men in their age categories were, David VM50-54 73.36 % , Brian NELSON VM55-59 73.16 %, Mathew KING VM45-49 71.94 % Good work you three!

The first 3 females in their age categories were, Carolyn MARSHALL VW50-54 79.31 % , Cath BRADDOCK VW45-49 74.28 % , Amber RAMOO VW50-54 70.71 %. Good job you guys!

I hope everyone got the time they were hoping for and I hope everyone had a good run and lots of fun even though it was a bit wet. Thank you again to all of the volunteers. I hope to see you guys next week!

This week 78 people ran, jogged and walked the course, of whom 10 were first timers and 14 recorded new Personal Bests. Representatives of 6 different clubs took part.

The male record is held by Ross GOLLAN who recorded a time of 15:41 on 29th December 2018 (event number 203).
The Age Grade course record is held by Keith BATEMAN who recorded 87.28% (18:13) on 21st February 2015 (event number 5).

Kapiti Coast parkrun started on 24th January 2015. Since then 1,950 participants have completed 16,231 parkruns covering a total distance of 81,155 km, including 2,755 new Personal Bests. A total of 256 individuals have volunteered 2,130 times.
