This week we will be celebrating the 4th birthday of the Kapiti Parkrun. So I thought I'd have a look back at the results from the first ever Parkrun in Kapiti and check out who was there and who's still running.
I must say that I thought there may be about 6 or 10 people who were there on 24/1/15, that were still appearing regularly, but I was surprised to see that 23 people from that first event are still running and appearing most weeks in the results. And here they are.
Mancamp Kapiti, aka, Graeme, Marcelo, Adrian, Sandy, Tony & Maureen, Jason & Serena, Jenny, Linsey, Zoe, Michael & Sylvia, Carrie-Ann & Jeff, John, Cameron, Finley, Leon, Jasmine, Bruce. Even Andy, while race directing a whopping 205 people found time for a run.
So over the 4 years and 206 Parkrun's, who's done the most? Of course there are people who have higher totals, but out of the first timers that started at the first Kapiti Parkrun and have done the majority of their runs at Kapiti. By my calculations the top 3 are, Adrian Hardy, 159. Jasmine Cooper, 167. Zoe Cooper, 183. Pretty impressive.
There are no prizes for guessing who were the volunteers at Parkrun number 1. Andy, Sara and Jude. And if we counted up the totals for most times volunteered, which I did, it's the same 3 people. Andy, Sara and Jude. Very impressive.
Happy Parkrun Birthday to us all, I hear there'll be sausages and cake for everyone. Lets charge our plastic cups with water, and drink a toast to the best Parkrun I've ever been to. Cheers.
