On Saturday morning, 91 parkrunners and a handful of super excited dogs set off on our 201st event – summer is here and the weather was perfect!
Marcelo Amaya clocked his 20th first place male finish in a speedy 18:51, with Suzanne McLennan being the first lady home in a time of 23:07. Marcelo also recorded the highest age graded score for the day at 74.62% - well done to both of you!
In terms of milestone clubs, Tarik Carter joined the Junior 10 Club this week, with, notably, all ten of these runs under the 22:30 mark. Congratulations, Tarik!
We also welcomed two first timers to the parkrun family on Saturday: Elizabeth Brown and Anna Heino-Amaya. Welcome, ladies! May this be the first event of many for both of you. A warm welcome also to our other visitors: Caleb, Zach, Benjamin and Tania Honey; David, Edward and Jenny Drummond; and Tyrone Fitzgerald. It was great having you with us and we hope to see you again soon.
A big thank you, as always, to the volunteer team and NZ Home Loans for making Kapiti Coast parkrun possible.
Also just a quick note that there will indeed be an additional parkrun event at Kapiti Coast parkrun on Christmas Day this coming Tuesday (25/12/2018) at 08:00, even though the NZ parkrun Christmas Compendium (http://www.parkrun.co.nz/special-events/) indicates otherwise. So bring your families and come and enjoy a Christmas Day parkrun with us.
See you then!
