View from the finish line

Parkrunday arrives and the sun comes out to shine
For 67 runners making their way over to the line.
A babble of excitement and brightly coloured tees
Head off along the river track, in amongst the trees.

It was a tricky run, I hear, with lots of puddles in the way
Not that it caused too much bother – we still had 2 PB's today!
From my spot on the finish line, I watched everyone arrive
Some people smiling, some sprinting, some only just alive...

Well done to all who took part, you were absolutely prime
Next week I'm back to running, instead of keeping time!
