Thanks Flynn for this week's write-up.
It was a still, calm morning for the 76th edition of the Greytown-Woodside Trail Park run. There were a few out-of-towners for today’s parkrun which added a good atmosphere to the run. We welcomed visitors from the Hutt Valley, Palmerston North and the the UK!
A particular Greytown welcome to Lew and Judy Campbell who have moved to the area so that they can join our parkrun every week!
It was a great turnout for another fantastic parkrun given it is the school holidays and some regulars are away. This week 45 people ran, jogged and walked the course, including 3 first-timers. With not much wind around, there were plenty of fast times and 5 new PB’s:
The full set of results can be reviewed at leisure on the website. Representatives of 6 different clubs took part. It was great to see a buggy being pushed around the course today.
And we also had 6 dogs taking part - plus Scout looking after us at the finish line. A reminder perhaps that it is time to re-start the "parkdog of the week" feature - watch this space!
Thanks as always to our wonderful gang of volunteers. This week the team looked like this:
- Ash WALKER
- Michael EDWARDS
- Phil COX
- Di BAILEY
- Melanie MACGREGOR
- Jenny DUGGAN
- John DUGGAN
- Flynn REGISTER
- Bede STEVENS
We're always looking for new volunteers. There is a page on the website that shows the roster for the next few weeks. If you would like to volunteer for a particular role one week, simply drop us a line.
The conditions outdoors certainly made the after-run coffee at the Offering Café even more appealing. Thanks to the team at the café for sorting our regular "centre table" booking!! We certainly filled it this week!
