Flaxmere Parkrun Report
Event #79

Jo Reyngoud

This cooler Saturday morning saw 45 parkrunners set off at 8.00am sharp to run, jog and walk the 5km course through our beautiful Paharakeke park. There was an autumnal wind blowing, sending swirling leaves dancing across the park. It also meant watching out for the ambush of falling chestnuts! The runners were encouraged home with a tail wind and the bell at the 4km mark ringing out cheerfully on the breeze. The full list of results for today's parkrun are on the website here - Event #79 latest Results.

A warm welcome goes out to those who participated in their first parkrun today.
While there were no milestones to acknowledge this week, congratulations go to those who achieved a personal best this week.

If you couldn’t get to the parkrun today remember that even when the Saturday event is over the park is still available for a freedom run. You can run the 5kms anytime and record your time in your profile. If you’re heading out of town for school holidays why not take the opportunity to try out one of New Zealand's other parkruns and become a parkrun tourist?

Finally, I want to take this opportunity to thank this week’s volunteers.

It’s volunteers that are at the heart of the parkrun. parkrun is a fun, free event that benefits everyone and can only be free if everyone volunteers. Please consider volunteering to help occasionally - this event survives only because of your generosity. It’s fun...you’ll like it. Have a look at the Future Roster and let the Flaxmere parkrun team know what you would like to do and whe. - Future Roster.

If you have any questions about joining parkrun or would like to volunteer, contact the friendly team at flaxmere@parkrun.com or send a message to the Flaxmere parkrun Facebook page.
