Run Report 17 July 2021

Barry Curtis parkrun
Event number 402
17th July 2021

Well, the wet weather certainly came through last night, and the rain and wind were pretty violent sounding when we woke up.  However, the hardy, or crazy (depending on your point of view), ones who turned up this week were rewarded with a dry event, although rather windy, and definitely cold for the volunteers.

This week 90 people ran, jogged and walked the rather sodden course at Barry Curtis park.  We had no first timers this time (that might be a first), but we did welcome visitors from Wellington and Invercargill (the latter being family of our Shallard, Faletanoai and Willis clans - so nice to see you again).

There were three milestones to celebrate this week, with one of our juniors Gracie doing her 100th event, and also David, and Laura who were each doing their 50th event.  What a great  celebration, and particularly impressed with the commitment to come out this week!  Well done to you all.

Our Run Director Tristran suggested that there would not be any PB's this week, but how wrong was he.  It was juniors all the way, and they are all under 10 - Luca, Ruby, Emily and Sienna - Way to go!!!!  You guys rock!!

And as always this event is not possible without our wonderful volunteers.  We are so grateful to the 16 parkrunners who stepped up this week:

Carl HARDLEY-ROUT • Karen ROUT • Grant LINCOLN • Ray FREEMAN • Rosalie FREEMAN • Tristan NICHOLLS • Vanessa FERNANDES • Ronald LOBJOIT • Chris WALLACE • Maria SHALLARD • Caitlin SHALLARD • Andrew SHALLARD • Hannah SHALLARD • Delwyn SMEDLEY • Tania KOKKE • Jonathon HILL

Our Sequel Cafe coffee vouchers this week went to Vanessa and Tania, who not only got themselves along to volunteer at parkrun this week, but also ensured their partners were here too!  That is what is so great about parkrun - it is a family event in all ways.  You too can be in the draw for a coffee voucher - just add your name to the volunteer board.  You can check out the roster online, and then send us an email and we can add you in.

Today's full results and a complete event history can be found on the Barry Curtis parkrun Results Page.
