Christmas Day Parkrun

"Ho ho hope it stops raining" was the collective Christmas wish as the excitement of Santa's visit and opening of presents subsided and thoughts turned to the festive parkrun.
Luckily it was pretty nice and so we had the world's fastest Santa Claus (21 minutes in a full Santa suit is some going), a gorilla, several Christmas fairies and plenty of other festive costume as well as a special guest appearance by the Xmas cruisers Andy and Sara.
61 runners on Christmas morning is a pretty great reflection of the Kapiti Coast parkrun community. The fact that so many people are willing to include a run on an always busy and special day goes a long way to show how popular the event has become under the great stewardship of Andy, Sara, Jude, Jill, Tom and Jeff as well as all the amazing volunteers.
Times and personal bests didn't matter, everyone was just there because they wanted to be there and share the fun (and my mince pies)
Hope 2019 continues along the same lines and the Parkrun community grows even more.
